Un-Boo-Levable!

I am Surrounded by Orange! I hate Orange! I used to call it “the Pink that Failed!” There is only one time a year that I let this futile color fill my home, Fall! Better yet, Halloween! Even though the Night of the Living Dead has picked up the reputation of gory thrillers and leotards and bunny tales I love the fun you can have decorating your home, oh and all that candy never hurts.
Now retail companies usually start their advertising for Halloween around August, but as annoying as it seems this gives designers, like me, ample time to create decorations that cost half of what department stores are selling them for.

BOO Blocks Supplies:
3 Planks of Wood (Different Sizes is Preferred)
Orange Paint
Black Paint
Sponge Paintbrush
Small Paintbrush
Paint Paper
Embellishments of your Choice
B and O Letter Cut-outs

Note: Going to Home Depot is a BLAST!!! Not only are the employees nice and helpful, but they also own a saw in the back. Go in with your measurements and they will cut the wood to your liking. (I went with 9 x 7.5 and 7 x 7.5)

Directions:
1. Lay down Paint Paper, if you are using a table you enjoy eating at, doing homework on, or people see through a window, be sure to cover ALL of it. The last thing you need is to miss a spot and now you have a great story for brunches with all your friends. They will know it as “The Blob”.
2. Using your sponge paintbrush cover all sides of the wood planks with orange paint. Leave to dry for a few hours before proceeding.
3. After paint has dried trace your letter cut-outs on their assigned orange planks.
4. Carefully use your small paintbrush (or black paint pen) and fill in your letters. Leave to dry for a few hours.
5. Finally, add embellishments. If glitz is your thing add some bling or glitter. I personally added black detailed stripes to the sides of the blocks.
6. When all is finished place blocks assorted on your mantle, table, or shelf and enjoy!
