I Did It! If anyone said, “You cant have your Cupcake, and Candy too” Well then they need to meet me because I just did! Muahahaha! Okay….seriously!

Lets be honest Halloween is known for the large amounts of candy! As adults we have the raw end of the deal: We buy the candy, Hand it out, and, if you have my husbands job, hold the dog back every time the door bell rings. Where is our fun?

Everyone Likes a Little Sneak Peek!

What do Twix, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and Snickers have in Common?
Okay so quite A LOT!

But Today They are Starring in my NEW PROJECT! What is it you ask…well come back next week and you’ll find out!

I’ll give you a hint though…I’m Baking! Pretty Apron Here I Come!

Ghoulish Greeting Cards!

Put Down that Phone Book! I know what you’re doing! Yeah I know Christmas Card Season is just around the corner! Photographers to book, new outfits to buy, Annual Hair Appointments to be made, anything so your Christmas Card Screams “Happy Holidays were Doing GREAT!”. Nothing messes up your Holiday Season more than going to your mailbox one day to see 40% of your Holiday Cards and Newsletters sent back due to a wrong address. No one likes spending hours on the phone calling old friends and family to find out how their doing and, um oh yeah…did you move? The reason for Holiday Cards is so your Phone Bill doesn’t cost you all your Holiday Budget. You need a trial run!

Halloween cards are the perfect way to edit (so to say) your address book. It’s a great way to start off the Festive Foursome and it ensures Holiday Newsletters make it on the first try.
This is my first year/holiday selling my cards. I’m super excited! They are being sold in my Mother-In-Laws Gift Shop in Ruidoso, NM and I will be selling them here.

Un-Boo-Levable!

I am Surrounded by Orange! I hate Orange! I used to call it “the Pink that Failed!” There is only one time a year that I let this futile color fill my home, Fall! Better yet, Halloween! Even though the Night of the Living Dead has picked up the reputation of gory thrillers and leotards and bunny tales I love the fun you can have decorating your home, oh and all that candy never hurts.
Now retail companies usually start their advertising for Halloween around August, but as annoying as it seems this gives designers, like me, ample time to create decorations that cost half of what department stores are selling them for.

BOO Blocks Supplies:
3 Planks of Wood (Different Sizes is Preferred)
Orange Paint
Black Paint
Sponge Paintbrush
Small Paintbrush
Paint Paper
Embellishments of your Choice
B and O Letter Cut-outs

Note: Going to Home Depot is a BLAST!!! Not only are the employees nice and helpful, but they also own a saw in the back. Go in with your measurements and they will cut the wood to your liking. (I went with 9 x 7.5 and 7 x 7.5)

Directions:
1. Lay down Paint Paper, if you are using a table you enjoy eating at, doing homework on, or people see through a window, be sure to cover ALL of it. The last thing you need is to miss a spot and now you have a great story for brunches with all your friends. They will know it as “The Blob”.
2. Using your sponge paintbrush cover all sides of the wood planks with orange paint. Leave to dry for a few hours before proceeding.
3. After paint has dried trace your letter cut-outs on their assigned orange planks.
4. Carefully use your small paintbrush (or black paint pen) and fill in your letters. Leave to dry for a few hours.
5. Finally, add embellishments. If glitz is your thing add some bling or glitter. I personally added black detailed stripes to the sides of the blocks.
6. When all is finished place blocks assorted on your mantle, table, or shelf and enjoy!

The First Impressions are the Lasting Ones!

I remember the nights when I used to lay in bed and fantasize about the weekend; Who am I going to hang out with? What am I going to wear? I wonder what cute guys will be there? What is going to be said on Monday? It’s no wonder that most of High School and College sleep was something I was always lacking. Now a days it’s a little different. I am not laying in bed dreaming about clothes and gossip instead its about Decorations, Ideas, New Paint Colors, Making candy into Cake Flavors, and, instead of just attending the party, I am the one throwing it.

The truth is I am loaded with creativity. My mind never stops coming up with new ideas or new takes on popular trends in Décor, Entertaining, and Food. In years past I have kept these thoughts and ideas to myself and my home décor, now I am realizing that I was being selfish. So here we are!

Be sure to browse all my posts and ideas. If any of them strike you with the same inclination that hits me, “I bet I can do that on my own, for cheaper!” by all means I challenge you to find that inner designer and make it happen. To my other viewers that like the view, but know they couldn’t recreate it, I take custom orders! I am here to help you!

The holidays are right around the corner and it's time to get those decorations started, those parties planned, the menus practiced, and those cards sent out. Let this year be the year you are talked about Monday morning! Everyone is begging YOU for those recipes! This year when girlfriends are asking where you got your ideas you can say “It was handed to me On A Silver Platter!”
